What is the average hire price?
The hire is £35 for a complete adult costume, which includes accessories such as hats, shoes, beads, gloves, bags, wigs, masks, etc. For more information, please visit our prices page.
How long can I hire the costume for?
Up to 4 days. If you would like to hire the costume for more than 4 days, the hire charge increases at a rate of £1 per extra day.
Can you post a costume out to me?
Sorry, no. Costumes must be collected and returned in person. We pride ourselves on getting a perfect fit!
I want to reserve a costume, what information do you need from me?
We need your name, address and telephone number. We will list all the items you are hiring on a receipt, and ask you to read our terms and conditions. You will be required to sign your receipt in acceptance of our terms and conditions, and a copy will be provided with your receipt.
How can I pay?
We accept cash or card. Payment is required upon hiring or reserving a costume.
Do you require a deposit for damages, losses or late returns?
No, but you are required to accept our terms and conditions upon hiring or reserving a costume which discuss charges related to damages, losses and late returns.
What if I need to cancel my reserved costume?
If you need to cancel your reserved costume, please call us. If you cancel 3+ days ahead of your hire date, you'll be refunded 50% of the hire cost. If you give less than 3 days cancellation notice, we cannot issue a refund.
What kind of costumes do you have?
We have over 4,000 costumes across many genres - historical through to modern day, film, TV, music, cartoon and panto characters. Vist our galleries for an idea of what we have, and how we create bespoke looks. All accessories such as hats, shoes, beads, gloves, bags, masks, etc. are included with your outfit.
Can I hire just part of an outfit?
Yes, individual items are priced separately. For example, a pair of shoes would be £5 to hire on their own.
Do you sell costumes or accessories?
No, we do not sell costumes, wigs or other accessories.
Do you stock any children's costumes?
Yes, we do! We keep a nice range of children's costumes for every era, book characters and Halloween. The youngest age we dress is 4 years old.
Do I have to wash my costume?
No, we wash and iron all the costumes after every hire.
Appointments & Hours of Operation
Why do I have to make an appointment?
By booking an appointment, we are able to provide a more bespoke service to help you find the best costume within our range that fits your needs.
Can I make a group appointment?
How long will my appointment be?
It depends on what you require, how many people are in your group and if you have a clear idea for your costume. On average, appointments are 30-60 minutes. You are under no obligation to choose a costume within that time, and we aim to help you as quickly and efficiently as possible.
What are your hours of operation?
We offer appointments on weekdays (Monday to Friday) between 9:30am-5:30pm and from 10am-1pm on Saturday. Please call us to arrange a suitable time.
When can I collect and return my costume?
You can collect and return your costume anytime within our opening hours on your agreed upon hire dates.
I have never hired a costume before, how does it work?
When you call to make your appointment, we will give you directions on how to find us. When you arrive, we will show around the cave and help you put your outfit together. There is a heated changing room (for the cold months) and plenty of mirrors for you to try on your look. You are welcome to select your outfit yourself, but we are more than happy to guide you with our expertise if you are looking for a more bespoke experience and end result. Our aim is to make our customers feel welcome, relaxed and well looked after. This is why we require appointments; it enables us to provide you with the best service.
If you like your costume, we can reserve it for you until your required (collection) date. To reserve your costume, you will be required to pay the full hire cost. You will be provided with a complete list of the items you are hiring, your hire dates (collection and return), our terms and conditions and a receipt to confirm your payment and acceptance of the terms and conditions.
